This Privacy Policy describes how FaultLog.io (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the FaultLog.io service (the “Service”).
Account data: We use the FaultLog community forum (Discourse) for authentication. When you log in, we receive your Discourse user ID, username, and avatar URL.
Report data: Inputs you submit to generate reports or how-to references, AI outputs, and any optional attachments you upload.
Community data: If you post to the community, the content is stored in Discourse and governed by Discourse policies.
Cookies: We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.
We use information to operate the Service, generate reports, display your history, enable community features, and improve the reliability and security of the Service.
Reports and attachments are retained until you delete them or an administrator removes them. Backups may persist for a limited time after deletion as part of normal hosting operations.
We share data with trusted third-party providers to operate the Service:
FaultLog.io does not intentionally store IP addresses in application records. However, our hosting providers and Discourse may log IP addresses for security, abuse prevention, and operational purposes.
We use reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
You can update your profile details through the community forum. You can delete your reports and attachments from within the Service. Community posts are managed within the Discourse forum.
The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
